RATCLIFF designed a new 20,000 s.f. post office to serve the Emeryville community. The building is sited east of a railroad system and is surrounded by numerous converted warehouses and former industrial buildings. The new facility’s design responds to its neighbors with an updated feel and contains a light-filled customer service area, three customer service counters, a self-service stamp and mailing area, and 168 post office boxes. The post office features separate public and staff parking lots, and also includes drought tolerant plant materials as well as durable finish materials.
