RATCLIFF is currently working on the design for a new 3-story, 60,000 s.f. Medical Office Building on a 3.1 acre site for Santa Clara County in downtown San Jose. The new San Jose Downtown Health Center will be a “site adapt” from a health center designed for the County and completed last year. The County’s goal is to re-use the Milpitas design to the greatest degree practical, while introducing light and incorporating sustainable design elements to achieve LEED Silver Certification. The interior architecture theme will respond to the site’s diverse population and location near a major creek and wildlife habitat.
The program includes primary and specialty care, urgent care, lab, pharmacy, radiology. Situated amidst a Gateway site that will align future BART station and major bus corridor, the new facility will serve as a bridge connecting the three diverse communities that surround this multi-ethnic location and has been without medical services for eight years.
