Santa Clara County | Valley Health Center Downtown

Situated at a transit gateway served by a major bus corridor and a future BART station, the Valley Health Center Downtown connects three local, underserved communities that have historically lacked medical services. The three-story facility allows medical providers to offer primary and specialty care services under one roof, including pediatric care, women’s health, and behavioral health. The building features laboratory, pharmacy, and radiology departments in addition to 12 urgent care rooms, 22 clinic exam rooms, 12 pediatric exam rooms, and 12 women’s health exam rooms—all located along the building’s perimeter corridor utilizing a pod layout. A contemporary facade punctuated by colorful glazing and vertical fins reflects the lively urban environment, while minimal landscaping ties the site to an adjacent creek and wildlife habitat. Generously daylit interiors consist of sustainable materials and warm hues to create a relaxed, welcoming environment for patients and visitors. The center and surrounding 3-acre site were designed to be a community asset and destination aimed at improving the health and wellness of Downtown San Jose residents. The project is LEED Gold certified.
